Jordan Wilkes from Christchurch to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon after nine-year-old girl stabbed at address on Glider Close




A MAN accused of attempted murder is due to appear in court today (Thursday) after a nine-year-old was stabbed in Christchurch on Tuesday.

As reported in the A&T, police attended Glider Close after receiving a report at 5.45pm that the youngster had suffered stab wounds.

She is currently in hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

Police have now charged Jordan Wilkes (28), of Christchurch, with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court today.

A local woman in her 50s who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released without charge and will face no further action.

Detective Chief Inspector Aimee Schock, of BCP CID, said: “There will continue to be an increased policing presence in the coming days and we would urge anyone to approach an officer with information or concerns.

“I would like to thank the community for their ongoing support.”
