Police tracked down the suspect, who matched a description provided by the victim of the raid, which took place at an address in Holbury Drove.
Entry was gained to the property via a small top window before two jewellery boxes containing cufflinks and a tie-clip were snatched, along with two cigars. All of these items have since been recovered.
Held on suspicion of burglary and theft, the 29-year-old man from Southampton was later released on bail until 1st April, pending further enquiries.

“Access was gained to the property through a small top window, with officers locating a man matching the description provided by the victim a short while later in the vicinity of the area.
“A 29-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of burglary dwelling and theft. He was later released on conditional bail until Thursday 1st April, pending further police enquiries.”
