On arrival officers detained an 18-year-old man from Lymington, but a spokesperson for the Hampshire force said no weapon was found. No injuries were reported.

Arrested on suspicion of affray, the youngster was later released on conditional bail until 19th July as enquiries into the incident continue.

A Facebook post by local officers afterwards said: “Please be assured that this is an isolated incident between two parties known to each other and doesn't represent a risk to the wider community.”
