Lorry breakdown causes heavy rush-hour delays on A31 between Picket Post and Stoney Cross, near Ringwood




THERE was heavy rush-hour disruption after a lorry broke down on a busy stretch of the A31 near Ringwood this morning (Monday).

Up to an hour in delays were added to motorists’ journeys as a result of the incident which closed a lane of the eastbound carriageway between Picket Post and Stoney Cross.

The breakdown was reported around 7.20am, with large traffic tailbacks building back to the Ashley Heath Roundabout.

All lanes were reported open once the lorry had been cleared from the carriageway about an hour later.

The queues, which amounted to about five miles of congestion, were said to have been slowly clearing.
