Letters: High street parking charges will free up spaces

SIR - I fully support the proposed charges in Lymington High Street.
It will be useful to have to have the free 20 minutes to buy a newspaper, or go to the cash machine etc. Currently this is not usually possible because of long-term free parking.
There are plenty of spaces available in the pay-and-display car parks just behind the High Street, and the annual parking ‘clock’ is good value.
