Letter: NFDC should spend spare cash on upgrading Lymington High Street
SIR – I have belatedly just read an article in your paper dated 7th April in which the district council is quoted as saying it will “spend £165.000 on improving the access to Woodside Gardens” in Lymington.
Having cycled to look at the two entrances, both have simple easy access for all, including prams and wheelchairs.
I am told the Rooks Lane one has been very boggy – not surprising with all the rain we have had!
Could a slightly raised ramp not be fitted through what is a gate-less entrance? Anything fancy or attractive would no doubt suffer from vandalisation.
There would still be more or less £160.000 left over which would go a long way to improve the surface of Lymington High Street, which is a disgrace and dangerous to cyclists, particularly at the upper end. Council - please spend our hard earned money wisely.
