Three-vehicle collision hospitalises one person and partially blocks off A31, between Burley and Stoney Cross
ONE person was hospitalised following a three-vehicle collision that partially blocked off a stretch of the A31 between Burley and Stoney Cross.
Police are urging people to come forward if they witnessed the incident which took place on the eastbound carriageway around 9.50am on Saturday.
It involved a black Mini Cooper, a silver Vauxhall Corsa and grey Renault Scenic, and minor injuries were reported with one casualty taken to hospital.
Delays from the B3081 Verwood Road and the A338 Salisbury Road at Ringwood were reported as all of the carriageway’s lanes were blocked.
Police urged motorists stuck in traffic on the carriageway not to try turning round to avoid it after lane one reopened shortly before 1pm.
The carriageway was fully reopened about another hour later.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire force said: “If anyone witnessed this collision and has not already contacted the police, please call 101, quoting reference 44230367136.”
