It involved a black Mini Cooper, a silver Vauxhall Corsa and grey Renault Scenic, and minor injuries were reported with one casualty taken to hospital.

Delays from the B3081 Verwood Road and the A338 Salisbury Road at Ringwood were reported as all of the carriageway’s lanes were blocked.

Police urged motorists stuck in traffic on the carriageway not to try turning round to avoid it after lane one reopened shortly before 1pm.
