Jail for Christchurch man Ashley Brown who robbed store, took parcels from doorsteps and stole a 13-year-old’s bicycle
A Christchurch man who robbed a store, took parcels from doorsteps and stole a 13-year-old’s bicycle has been jailed.
Ashley Brown (28), of Treebys Close, was put away for nine years after admitted a series of charges.
The offences happened over six months between December last year and June 2024.
On 19th and 21st December, Brown stole a parcel from outside an address in Christchurch Road, as well as air fresheners from a property in Hawkwood Road in Bournemouth.
A few days later on 23the, the he entered the porch of an address in Woodstock Road in Christchurch and stole a number of parcels. He was identified after being captured on doorbell camera footage.
On 28th May, Brown stole a bike from a 13-year-old boy outside Lidl in Bailey Drive, Christchurch.
Two further incidents happened on 14th June in Bournemouth. At around 11.15am, Brown entered Uppercut Barbers on Christchurch Road and demanded money, during which, it was reported a member of staff was bitten on the arm and needed hospital treatment.
At around 9.15pm the same day, he demanded money from the till in Iford Stores on Christchurch Road while in possession of a knife.
Brown was identified as being responsible for the robberies and was arrested on 15th June.
He previously pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery, three counts of theft, burglary, possession of a knife, possession of a class A drug and failing to surrender to court bail.
Detective Sergeant Leo Christian, of BCP CID, said: “Brown’s offending took place over a series of months and impacted a number of different victims.
“I am pleased that we were able to identify Brown as the person responsible and build a case that led to him being jailed for a significant period of time.”
