ATTACKING two people, including a police officer, resulted in a Christchurch man being jailed for four months.

Craig Dauncey (30), of Masterson Close, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man by beating at Bournemouth pub The Christopher Creeke on 30th October, when he appeared before Poole magistrates.

He also admitted a charge of assaulting an emergency worker by beating at Poole General Hospital on the same date.

Custody was imposed as the Bench ruled the first assault was serious and unprovoked, and both were aggravated by a previous record of offending.

Dauncey was also ordered to pay £200 compensation to the pub assault victim.
