POLICE are hunting a man who kicked a 13-year-old girl off her bicycle on a Highcliffe path, and booted her in the stomach before threatening her with a knife.

At about 5pm on Thursday, 4th March, the girl was riding with a friend along the cut-through from Smugglers Lane North to Nea Close when she passed the man, who kicked her rear wheel, causing her to fall off.

The man kicked the girl in the stomach and, after the victim got back on her bike, kicked her rear wheel a second time, and she fell off again.

She was then kicked in the stomach once more, after which the assailant stood over her holding a small kitchen knife and threatened her, before moving away.

The girl suffered grazes and a sore stomach as a result of the assault.

The offender is described as white, aged in his 50s, around 5ft 8in tall, of medium build and with greying brown hair and a grey beard. He was wearing a black puffa-style coat, dark blue jogging bottoms and red-and-black trainers.

Police Constable Aaron Harvey, of East Dorset police, said it was a very distressing incident for the victim.

“We have been carrying out a number of enquiries into the incident and, after obtaining a full account from the victim, we are now appealing for anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please come forward.”

Those with information should contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting reference 55210038982, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
