Hunt for driver who fled police and dumped car in Whitelands, Bransgore, leaving dog inside

Police are hunting a driver who dumped their car to evade police and left their dog inside.

Officers from Ringwood and Fordingbridge found the vehicle – which "made off from police using a gravel track" – last night (Thursday) abandoned on Whitelands in Bransgore, blocking residents' driveways.

Enquiries showed the owner of the car was disqualified and the vehicle had no MOT, with "a bald tyre and a number of other vehicle defects".

Police seized the vehicle and took the dog to a local vet.

A Hampshire police spokesperson said: "If this is your vehicle, please contact Fordingbridge police on 101 to discuss offences and vehicle recovery."
