Redrow donates warehouse in Lymington as drop-off station for Ukrainian refugees donations

WAREHOUSE space in Lymington owned by housebuilder Redrow has been donated for volunteers collecting and packing donations for Ukrainian refugees.

The company owns three commercial units at Ampress Park which were built as part of the creation of the Lymington Shores housing development at the former Webbs chicken factory.

Local charity New Forest For Ukraine is seeking personal items including shampoo, hand and face creams, lip balm, body wash and soaps and new flannels or sponges to take to those in need.

Other items needed by the charity include instant meals, baby food in pouches, baby wipes, flip flops, wheeled suitcases and bags, and new underwear for women and children.

John Stanton, founder of New Forest For Ukraine, said: “We are pleased to partner with Redrow so that we can keep up the momentum we’ve built over recent weeks in sourcing, sorting and delivering much-needed clothes, food, toiletries and equipment directly to Ukrainian refugees.

“The situation is still acutely severe and so we are kindly asking the community to consider donating items or even their time to help with our efforts.”

Redrow’s Lymington-based team is also asking local contractors and subcontractors to donate to help the charity’s efforts to transport donations.

Ian Sneddon, managing director of Redrow Southern Counties division, said: “We are pleased that our Ampress Park facility is a suitable location as a drop-off point and look forward to supporting the fundraising efforts too so that all donations can be swiftly transported to refugees.”

Last month the housebuilder announced a company-wide donation of £50,000 to the Ukraine Disasters Emergency Committee fund.

It is also matchfunding any colleague fundraising for the cause, up to £1,000 per employee.
