Police hunt man on jet ski who hurled homophobic abuse at swimmer off a Mudeford beach




POLICE have released an image of a man on a jet ski who they would like to trace after a woman was subjected to a hate crime off a Mudeford beach.

Investigations are continuing into the incident which took place around 4pm on Sunday 18th July while the victim, who is in her 40s, swam in the sea close to the beach huts on the spit.

She challenged a group reportedly riding jet skis dangerously close to people.

A man in the group responded by hurling verbal abuse, including homophobic comments, and splashed water at her.

PC Erica Weldon said: “Dorset Police takes hate crime very seriously and we have been carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident.

“I am now in a position to release an image of a man we would like to speak to.

“I would urge anyone who recognises him to please come forward. I am also keen to hear from any witnesses to the incident who have not already spoken to police.”
