Totton Donkey Derby raises more than £10,000 4th New Forest North (Eling) Sea Scouts

OVER £10,000 was raised for a local scout group at Totton's 25th annual Donkey Derby which returned to the town after a three-year hiatus.

The event is run by the 4th New Forest North (Eling) Sea Scouts, which provides water-based activities in addition to scouting at Testwood Lakes.

Held at Eling recreation ground for the first time since 2019, the event raises much-needed funds for the group.

Those attending could place a bet on the eight races and while some jockeys were seen to topple off, no-one was injured at the event.

Attendees could also enjoy a donkey ride, play on inflatables and try to win on the tombola and various pocket money games.
