GARDEN waste collections in Christchurch resumed from today (Monday), but there's no sign of the service's return in the New Forest.

BCP Council suspended its collections nearly a month ago, a move blamed on the "pingdemic" of Covid-19 alerts, but announced their return from today.

In a social media post, it said "no decision" had yet been made on how it will make up for the missed collections.

Meanwhile New Forest District Council's service remains suspended indefinitely thanks to "continued staff shortages".

The NFDC service has been out of action since 19th July. When the service restarts the council is promising all existing garden waste service customers will receive an extension for any suspended time, so the number of collections will be the same.
