Marchwood garage raid suspect arrested after being held by resident




A MAN was arrested after being confronted by a resident at the scene of a Marchwood garage break-in in the early hours yesterday (Monday).

Police responded to reports of a burglary in progress after the occupants of a Gage Close property were awoken on Monday morning by a neighbour’s outbuilding being raided.

A resident detained a man until officers arrived. Arrested on suspicion of burglary, the 37-year-old from Southampton was later released under investigation.

Several items were recovered and returned to their owners.
