Gang of supermarket raiders snatch cigarettes and empty tills
POLICE are hunting raiders who broke into a supermarket in Totton and stole a quantity of cigarettes this morning (Tuesday).
Hampshire Police confirmed officers were called at 3.45am following the break-in at Morrisons in Spruce Drive.
A force spokesperson told the A&T: “Entry was forced to the front of the store [and] a quantity of cigarettes were stolen.
"Tills were also taken but it’s not believed at this stage that cash was stolen.”
A spokesperson for Morrisons said it could not comment on the matter, due to it being a police incident.
The supermarket was open for business this morning despite the raid.
