Live music and fireworks among attractions at Christchurch Carnival this weekend
THOSE attending Christchurch Carnival this weekend are being promised a great selection of food and drink alongside family fun and entertainment.
In the lead up on Friday there will be a funfair with free circus skills sessions, a tug of war championship and the Christchurch Carnival Shining Stars Awards presentation at the quay between 6pm and 8pm.
On Saturday, an array of live music and performances will be held across the day, including shows from the O’Leary Academy of Dance, ending with a fireworks display on the quay at 10pm.
On Sunday, activities start at 10am and include the carnival parade through the town. At the quay there will be a dog show and performances by the Ringwood Pipe Band and Samba Panache.
Raclette, pizza, tortillas, veggie burgers and pulled pork are just some of the food delights on offer.
Organisers say: “We aren’t just about family fun and entertainment – we’ve also got some great food and drink venders joining us on 10th and 11th of August.”
Among them are Dorset sisters, Sophie and Sadie, who will be returning with their Melted Cheese Raclette mobile horsebox.
Pizzafest is also back with its stonebaked pizzas, and the Tasty Burger Co. will be dishing up tasty 100% British beef burgers, pulled pork and veggie burgers.
Tortilla wraps filled with either shredded duck, grilled chicken, or fried halloumi will be available from the Duck & Chicken stall.
There will also be the fantastic Scout Active Support tea and cake tent, where tea will be served in China cups and there will be lots of lovely homemade cakes.
If it’s hot, there is bound to be a queue for Surrey Ices and at the three bars spread across the carnival site.
