Free energy checker goes live for New Forest residents

RESIDENTS of the New Forest can find out how to improve the energy efficiency of their homes with a new online checker tool made available by the district council.

The free-to-use system, called Cosy Homes New Forest, can create a refurbishment plan to make homes warmer, reduce carbon footprint, and cut energy bills.

Residents can add in a budget amount and what they want to work on improving to see suggestions to create a plan that suits them.

It is also useful for landlords to ensure they comply with minimum energy efficiency standards.

The council’s cabinet member for housing and homelessness, Cllr Steve Davies, urged residents to try the new service, adding: “The energy efficiency checker is quick and easy to use.”
