Four arrests after alleged fight in Draper Road, Christchurch, leaves two people injured

FOUR people were arrested following an alleged brawl in a Christchurch street which resulted in two others being hospitalised.

Police are urging witnesses and those with any useful video footage to come forward as they investigate the public order incident in Draper Road, which happened between 2.45pm and 3.15pm on Thursday.

Two men were taken to hospital, one having suffered lacerations and bruising to his face, hand and arm, and the other with injuries to his nose and wrist.

Officers arrested a 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both from Christchurch, and an 18-year-old Bournemouth man on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. They were released under investigation pending further enquiries.

A 38-year-old man from Bournemouth was also detained on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. He was released on police bail while the investigation continues.

PC Elizabeth Johnson-Byrnes said: “Our investigation is ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have captured the incident on either dash cam, mobile phone or home CCTV footage.

“Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team will be carrying out patrols in the area and can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.”
