Neil Brake of Hythe jailed after shoplifting from Southampton Co-op

A HYTHE shoplifter who stole nearly £200 of goods from a convenience store was jailed for 28 days.

Neil Brake (27), of Ash Close, pleaded guilty to taking items valued at £184.20 when he targeted the Co-op in Southampton on 6th May.

He also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to bail at the city’s magistrates’ court on 13th June.

Ruling the offences were so serious only a custodial sentence was justified, the Bench cited Brake’s flagrant disregard for court orders.
