Stefan Petrescu from Totton admits possessing and attempting to sell weapons

A New Forest man has admitted trying to sell weapons through Instagram.

Stefan Petrescu (23) of High Street, Totton, appeared at Southampton Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday).

His arrest came after police investigated reports of the unlawful selling of knives and other prohibited weapons and firearms in the New Forest, through the social media platform.

Petrescu admitted one count of marketing a combat knife for sale and one count of possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas/electrical incapacitation device.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

Petrescu was remanded in custody until 25th October, when he will be sentenced.
