Lymington-based New Forest Ice Cream scoops Great Taste Award from the Guild of Fine Food
NEW Forest Ice Cream has been awarded a Great Taste Award for its passions fruit sorbet.
The 1-star accolade from the Guild of Fine Food was secured following a blind tasting involving 500 discerning judges in a process spanning 92 days. The sorbet stood out among entries form 115 countries.
Niki Jenman, co-director of New Forest Ice Cream, based in Ampress Lane, Lymington, said the team was “over the moon”.
"Our passionfruit sorbet has always been a favourite, but now it's got a shiny star to prove it's out of this world,” she said.
A company spokesperson described the sweet treat as a “dairy-free delight that doesn’t compromise on taste or texture.”
“Made with real passion fruit, our sorbet delivers an explosion of tropical flavour that transports you to sunnier climes with every spoonful,” she said.

One judge described the sorbet as “creamy looking, with the gentle aroma of passion fruit”.
“The well-judged structure is giving a wonderful hit of fruity sharp passion fruit,” they commented.
