Football troublemaker banned from Saints' stadium for three years

A FOOTBALL fan has been banned from the Southampton FC St Mary’s Stadium for three years after he committed a public order offence during a match there.

Aaron Hill (42), of Rushford Warren, Mudeford, appeared before the city’s magistrates and admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on 17th August – the day Saints lost 2-1 at home to Liverpool.

In addition to being banned from St Mary’s, he is not allowed in any pubs or bars within a one-mile radius of the stadium four hours before, and six hours after, the scheduled kick-off time of any Southampton home game.

The order imposed by the Bench also prohibits Hill from entering any town, city or London borough in which Southampton FC are playing 12 hours before the start of any game or six hours after, save for work purposes.

He is also not allowed in any town, city or London borough in which the England national team is playing a fixture, over a time span beginning four hours before the kick-off of a fixture and six hours after.

In addition to the football ban, Hill was ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work in the community, fined £90 and told to pay £85 court costs.
