Flooding closures cause disruption for motorists on A31 near Ringwood
FLOODING partially closed off a stretch of the A31 near Ringwood last night (Monday) and this morning, causing major disruption for motorists.
Lane one of the westbound carriageway and the exit slip were first reported shut between the M27 and the A338 around 6.30pm yesterday due to emergency works to deal with the water.
There were delays of at least 30 minutes on the approach before the closures were lifted about three hours later.
However, lane one of the carriageway was again reported closed between Stoney Cross and Picket Post due to floodwater shortly after 7am today.
This resulted in about five miles of congestion on the approach about an hour later; and then delays of about 70 minutes were reported around 8.50am.
