Ashley Infant School’s SEND unit to get new play area thanks to local businesses
BUSINESSES have stepped in to install a desperately needed play area at Ashley Infant School’s SEND unit.
The children at the resourced provision unit, who all have medical and/or severe and complex learning difficulties, have been unable to use their garden due to it being so boggy.
The garden as it is, has no adequate drainage system and is always flooding.
Thanks to groundworks company Gracelands, HRG Tree Surgeons, New Milton Sand and Ballast and Barratt Homes, the youngsters will soon have a suitable space in which to play and exercise.
Giving their time and labour for free over the summer holidays, the teams will be working hard to ensure the children can enjoy a safe new play area when they return to school in September.
Headteacher Sarah Dibben said the pupils will now be able to “develop so many skills all year round”.
“The space will be transformed from a boggy and inaccessible garden to an inspiring environment promoting imaginative play, creativity and physical activity.
“We are immensely grateful to all the businesses involved.”
