Fire crews battle blaze in bedroom of home in St Francis Road, Langley




FIREFIGHTERS battled a blaze which broke out in the bedroom of a home in Langley, near Blackfield, on Sunday morning.

The alarm was raised shortly after 11am as flames engulfed the first-floor room, blowing out windows, at the St Francis Road property.

Aided by breathing apparatus, crews from Hythe and Hardley contained the emergency and vented smoke outside within an hour.

Fire safety advice was issued to neighbouring residents before firefighters left the scene.
