Ferry operator Wightlink introduces later sailings on its Lymington-to-Yarmouth route
FERRY company Wightlink has introduced later sailings on its Lymington to Yarmouth service in response to customer feedback.
The new timetable will start on 5th January 2024, with the last ferry on Fridays and Mondays scheduled to leave Lymington at 9.05pm and return from Yarmouth at 9.50pm.
Additional later sailings will run at weekends from the start of summer timetable on 25th March 2024, and the first ferry from Lymington will leave at the revised time of 6.05am, seven days a week, from 2nd January.
Wightlink says this follows consultation with customers.
To accommodate the revised evening schedule, an extra 10 crew members have been hired by the firm.
Chief executive Keith Greenfield said: “I am really pleased we have found a way to introduce later sailings between Yarmouth and Lymington at weekends to support people who live or work in the West Wight. This has been a frequent request from regular travellers.”
