Wightlink warns Lymington passengers of boarding changes at Yarmouth
Wightlink ferries are warning passengers from Lymington of a change of boarding procedures at Yarmouth and a temporary timetable change.
From yesterday (Monday) to Wednesday 12th, all passengers, travelling by vehicle or on foot will use a temporary barge on the Yarmouth slipway to get on and off the ferry.
The company said the temporary change was necessary due to ongoing works there, and that all affected customers will be contacted, with details also posted on its WhatsApp channel.
A company spokesperson said: “During this time, we will be operating a temporary timetable.
“This is to allow our engineering team the space and safety they need to replace the linkspan wires, a regulatory requirement that must be completed to ensure the berth remains safe and fully operational.
“We’ve chosen this time of year to take advantage of favourable tidal conditions and to reduce the risk of disruption from winter weather. The timing has also been carefully chosen to keep any inconvenience to a minimum.”
The firm also apologised for any inconvenience caused during this period.
