FAILING to provide a breath specimen when suspected of having committed a driving offence cost a Bisterne motorist over £1,600 when he appeared before magistrates.

Timothy Parsons (36), of Lower Bisterne, was found guilty having previously denied the charge relating to an incident at Ower on 28th March.

As well as fining Parsons £900 and ordering he pay £710 court charges, the Southampton Bench banned him from the roads for three years.
