Dr Helen Allergy opens new clinic at Endeavour House, Ringwood
A NEW allergy centre which provides bespoke, multidisciplinary services has opened in Ringwood.
Dr Helen Allergy has moved from Poole to a larger, purpose-built base at Endeavour House in the town following an increased demand for services.
The clinic provides bespoke, multidisciplinary services for allergies including eczema and asthma, serving local families and patients from across the country who travel to Ringwood for access to food immunotherapy treatments – an option otherwise only available in London.
Alongside one-to-one patient care, it also offers group allergy weaning clinics, as well as anaphylaxis awareness and first-aid training to community groups and in depth development for medical professionals.
The VIP official launch was set to be held today (Friday) and welcomed experts in the fields of allergy, nutrition and mental health, alongside influencers, charities and local community leaders.
The clinic’s Dr Helen Evans-Howells said: “My mission is to help patients and families live well with allergies. An undiagnosed condition can be overwhelming, but when you have quick access to the latest knowledge, treatments, and a team who 'get it' – it makes a huge difference.
“Our patients often come with a huge weight, and leave with a full team supporting their every step."
When Dr Evans-Howells found her infant son Ethan presented milk and nut allergy symptoms, she found the path to diagnosis challenging – despite her being a GP.
Determined to improve care for other families facing similar situations, she retrained in allergies and founded Dr Helen Allergy, working in partnership with the Allergy Centre of Excellence in London to offer cutting-edge treatments.
She also serves as a trustee and chair of the Scientific Panel for Anaphylaxis UK, and previously chaired the Primary Care Group for the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology from 2017 to 2020, driving advancements in allergy care.
A sought-after speaker and lecturer, Dr Evans-Howells regularly trains GPs in allergy diagnosis and has been featured on BBC Radio 5 Live, the Jeremy Vine Show and numerous newspaper and magazine articles, as well as the government’s MHRA Anaphylaxis campaign.
