THE U10 girls’ Durlston Court netball team have made an impressive start to the netball season. In the last month, they have competed in two tournaments claiming first and second place.

The Durlston home tournament was attended by Ballard, Chafyn Grove, Castle Court, Dumpton, Walhampton and Stroud, and the girls from all schools played great netball with fantastic sportsmanship on display.

As Durlston worked their way through the matches, they won all but one, which was a draw against Dumpton.

Durlston’s Elodie Burkmar scored a total of 18 goals with some outstanding shooting and Matilda Mowat’s impressive court play alongside all the girls’ teamwork made for excellent viewing.

Durlston clinched the gold medal in the final against Chafyn Grove who had won all of their previous matches.

Canford School hosted the next tournament, and once again, Durlston met Chafyn Grove in the final. This time, an impressive goal conversion rate from Chafyn led them to the title, with Durlston proudly taking runner-up position.
