Many took to social media to comments, with one saying: “Absolutely disgusting. Why? It is such a danger to the ponies and other wildlife.”

Another said: “I hope there is something there that can identify who has done this, it is completely sickening.”

A spokesperson for FE told the A&T: “A number of flytips occurred on land managed by Forestry England in the New Forest over 24 hours. On Thursday our rangers attended three large flytips, at Mill Lane in Burley which included roofing tiles.

“They also attended a flytip near Setley Pond that included building rubble, and another near Minstead which including similar building debris. Evidence has been collected from all these locations, and we’ll be working closely with the appropriate enforcement authorities to investigate these incidents.

“All three fly-tips will shortly be removed by our waste contractors. The cost of this has to be met by our limited funds and reduces our ability to look after the New Forest, facilities for people using it, and to care for wildlife.

“We once again remind anyone who is having waste removed to ensure the company or individual they are using has the correct licence to do so. This can be easily checked on the Environment Agency website. Working with licensed companies taking a responsible and sustainable approach will help to reduce incidents.”

Those with information on the flytips should contact FE on southern.enquiries@forestryengland.uk or calling 0300 067 4601.
