A MAN from Dibden has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries across Ringwood.

As reported in the A&T, the town has seen a spate of raids on properties this month, including in Swan Mead, Ashley Close, Westbury Road, Addison Square and Green Lane.

Hampshire police said officers spotted a vehicle which had been “heavily linked” to the burglaries, and detained the driver.

The 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of non-dwelling burglaries, and was later released under investigation while further enquires are carried out.

Officers have warned residents to be on their guard following the raids, which saw The London Tavern pub and the Railway Hotel targeted, as well as Sainsbury’s on Meeting House Lane. There were eight further incidents at homes since the early hours of Friday 6th November.

Homeowners should lock their sheds or garages every evening, mark prized possessions with a forensic solution, ensure side gates are locked and record details of property, including serial numbers on electronic goods, the Hampshire force said.

Those with information on burglaries in the area should phone the police on 101.
