New Forest District Council seeks residents to join Totton regeneration panel

RESIDENTS are being sought to form a panel to help shape the future of a New Forest town.

As reported in the A&T, New Forest District Council announced in 2022 a regeneration masterplan would focus on transforming Totton into a modern market town with a bold approach to architecture and green credentials.

It also wants to improve access and connectivity, transforming underused brownfield sites and creating better public spaces.

The council says progress has been made over the past two years, including the formation of the Totton Partnership, the funding of a number of small-scale projects, and now the appointment of consultants to prepare a masterplan for the town centre.

Now it is seeking residents aged 16 and over, of all backgrounds and experiences, to form a panel of 50 people that can help shape the future of the town centre. Panellists will be selected at random from those who can attend four “creative and productive” three-hour sessions between June and February 2026.
