A council spokesperson said: “In Lymington and Pennington there are many individuals who volunteer their time and expertise for the good of the community, or add social, cultural, economic, or environmental value to the town.”

In October, the council’s policy and resources committee resolved to introduce a Citizen of the Year award each year. The winner will be selected by a sub-committee and announced at the Christmas council meeting on 13th December.

If you know someone you think is deserving of the award, contact the council for an application form by emailing info@lymandpentc.org.uk, calling 01590 630830 or downloading a form at lymingtonandpennington-tc.gov.uk/news

Applications must be submitted by 1st December.
