LEARN MORETOWN councillors are set to raise with the police continued anti-social behaviour around a derelict New Milton property.
Passing on a resident’s complaint, Cllr Dean Samber told a recent planning committee that disturbances relating to Cricket View in Fernhill Lane had caused concern.
Members heard the issue was last raised in January with an acting police sergeant, who stated the property was adequately boarded up.
The officer had also urged people to report any incidents at the time so the scene could be attended, if prioritised. PCSO patrols were also taking in the address.
But councillors sympathised with some residents becoming weary of reporting such issues when police attendance was repeatedly not provided.
Previous incidents near the property included a car being torched in April, which prompted police to warn lives could have been endangered if flames spread to nearby woodland.
It was agreed the matter should be raised directly with Insp. Darren Ord when he gives his next New Forest West safer neighbourhoods team report to full town council.
Councillors also felt the resident should be encouraged to report any incidents to police, using the online form at bit.ly/2E5B0mq
