ACCLAIMED as one of the most popular big bands in the UK, the dynamic Syd Lawrence Orchestra are set to perform a medley of hits during a concert at the Regent Centre, Christchurch on Thursday 7th February.

Now led by musical director Chris Dean, the band was first formed more than 50 years ago by trumpeter and arranger Syd Lawrence.

Since then the orchestra has been delighting audiences with a blend of high octane big band swing and classic dance music performing a repertoire which ranges from the wartime million sellers of the legendary Glenn Miller and the great Count Basie Orchestra to the hit songs of Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.

Tickets to the concert are £20 each but we’ve teamed up with the Regent Centre to give one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets by answering the question in this week’s leisure competition.
