LEARN MORETWO colourful new benches paying tribute to NHS staff and keyworkers for their efforts during the pandemic were installed in Totton.
The metal seats feature a rainbow and a plaque which also thanks the Totton Isolation Group, set up by locals Michelle Ashley and Corrine Warwick to help residents with shopping and prescriptions.
Cllr Neville Penman, who volunteered with the group, gave a grant towards the cost, as did Cllr David Harrison.
Michelle said: “We hope the benches will be a lovely reminder to the group for all they have done, as well as a tribute to those that have fought Covid-19 and a memorial to those that have lost their lives.
“It has truly been a harrowing time but we come through it by standing together.”
