LEARN MORENEW Milton Town Council could pocket £30,000 from parking for gigs by international music stars including Michael Buble at Chewton Glen hotel.
Up to 2,000 vehicles will be allowed to park on land at the council-owned Fawcett’s Field, off the A337 Christchurch Road, for each of the four outdoor concerts being staged at the five-star luxury hotel in July.
As reported in the A&T, the other concerts will feature Olly Murs, McFly and Tears for Fears.
Amenities committee chair Cllr Geoff Blunden told a recent meeting that as well as the £30,000 projected income, a £10,000 deposit would be paid to cover any damage.
Responding to Cllr Dean Samber’s concern about a potential litter increase as a result of the parking, Cllr Blunden confirmed this fell within Chewton Glen’s marshalling responsibilities.
