CCTV video released by police in hunt for cyclist who attacked 83-year-old man on Hightown Road in Ringwood

POLICE have released CCTV footage of a cyclist they want to find after an elderly man was pushed to the ground in Ringwood.

The 83-year-old victim was targeted as he walked along Hightown Road around 6.35am on Monday 18th October.

A cyclist was said to have hurled abuse at the pensioner after brushing past him, and then struck him, knocking him to the ground. He then fled the scene.

The victim was not seriously injured.

People are being urged to come forward if they can help identify the suspect in the footage.

He is described as having dark hair shaved at the sides, wearing a black backpack, and he had a white carrier bag on his bike.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire force said: “Officers believe that the cyclist travels a similar route on a daily basis.

“Do you recognise the person in the CCTV image? Were you in the area at the time of the incident or did you see what happened?”
