POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they want to find after a shoplifter targeted a New Forest shop.

The incident took place between 11.20am and 11.30am last Thursday, when a man entered the Central shop in Station Road, Sway, and picked up around £40 worth of goods, including a bottle of vodka.

He then left without paying, and it is believed that he fled the scene on a bicycle and headed towards the village’s railway station.

Officers are urging people to come forward if they can help identify the man or if they saw the theft.

Described as white, aged 18-20 and about 6ft tall, he was wearing a black North Face puffa-style jacket, grey trainers and a red face mask. He was also carrying a red CEX drawstring bag.

A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “Do you recognise this man?

“Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you saw what happened?”

Those with information should contact the force on 101, quoting crime reference number 44210024102, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
