Man’s body found in water at Mudeford Quay




A MAN’S body was pulled from the water at Mudeford Quay early this morning (Tuesday).

The alarm was raised around 6.45am, and police attended the scene, along with coastguard, the RNLI and paramedics.

Officers have alerted the coroner of the death of the man, who was in his 60s. It is not being treated as suspicious.

The A&T understands money and a passport were found on the beach nearby shortly before the body’s discovery.

A force spokesperson said: “Dorset Police received a report at around 6.45am on Tuesday 5th November 2024 that the body of a man aged in his 60s had been located in the water at Mudeford Quay in Christchurch.

“Officers attended with HM Coastguard, RNLI and the ambulance service.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and the man’s next of kin has been informed. The coroner has also been notified.”

The spokesperson added: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
