Police find body in woodland near Gordon Road, Highcliffe, in search for missing Judith Kelly from Christchurch




POLICE searching for a missing woman in the Christchurch area have found a body this afternoon (Monday).

Concerns had been growing for the welfare of keen walker Judith Kelly (55) since she was reported missing at 6.45pm on Saturday, having last been seen around 10am that morning in Merley Drive.

Just hours after renewing their appeal to trace the woman, police have announced the discovery of what is believed to be her body.

The discovery was made around 12.30pm in woodland close to Gordon Road in Highcliffe.

Officers had yesterday released CCTV images showing Judith walking alongside the A337 Lymington Road in the village at 10.13am on Saturday.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “While the body has not yet been formally identified, it is believed to be that of Judith Kelly who was last seen at 10.13am on Saturday 21st October 2023.

“Her family have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner has been notified.

“We would like to thank everyone who assisted with the searches and our thoughts are with Judith’s family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.”
