A WATER company has apologised after sending Ringwood residents multiple copies of the same letter

Martin Green was shocked after the mail was sent to him last week, posting on social media: “Thanks, Wessex Water, I really wanted 30 of the same letter, giving advice on how to stop blockages.

“I’m not the only one who got this. Feeling sorry for the post lady.”

He told the A&T: "I found it quite funny, however, it is obviously a waste of money and resources.

"I was also a little bewildered that no one from the post office found it odd, but carried on with the delivery. I know they don’t know what’s in the letter, but they do know what is normal mail and what is informatory.

"How many people did this pass and none of them noticed?"

Others commented on his post to say they too had received more than one.

Four people said they had received 31 copies while another said they'd also had 30 delivered.

A Wessex Water spokesperson told the A&T: “We’re sorry that some customers received multiple letters from us.

“This was caused by human error using a system to process letters, and clearly shouldn’t have happened.

“We apologise to those customers affected and have advised they recycle the letters.”
