Axe and sword stick seized by police in raid on property off Avenue Road, Christchurch

AN axe and a sword stick were seized when police raided a Christchurch property.

Acting on intelligence from members of the public, officers executed a search warrant at the address off Avenue Road around 3pm on Friday 13th May.

They recovered the axe along with a concealed sword stick.

A man in his 50s attended a voluntary interview in connection with the weapons and was released under investigation as enquiries continued.
