Police appeal after asbestos dumped at Bramble Hill Walk and Roundhill car parks

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after bags of asbestos were dumped in two New Forest spots.

They were discovered last Thursday in the car parks at Bramble Hill Walk and Roundhill, near Lyndhurst.

Pictures of the waste were shared online, with a spokesperson adding: “Do you recognise the packaging?

“Have you paid someone to dispose of it expecting it to be dealt with correctly, but actually it's just been dumped?”

A Forestry England spokesperson told the A&T there had been “several” incidents of flytipped asbestos waste in January, including one at Minstead Road car park, Minstead.

The spokesperson added: “Removal of these has been arranged by Forestry England using specialist contractors.”
