Arrest over shoplifting at Tesco Express and fraudulent card use at Morrisons Daily in New Milton




POLICE have arrested a New Milton man on suspicion of shoplifting and fraud after incidents at two shops in the town.

The alarm was raised on 17th January, with reports goods were stolen from Tesco Express on Old Milton Road.

At the same time, a person’s phone, case and bank cards were said to have been taken inside the store.

Attempts to use these cards were then reportedly made at Morrisons Daily on Avenue Road.

Officers detained a 30-year-old on Marryat Road on suspicion of fraud by false representation and shoplifting in connection with the incidents.

He was further arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, having a blade in a public place, obstructing a constable in execution of their duty, and assault of an emergency worker.

The suspect was later released on conditional bail until 24th April pending further enquiries.
