Man arrested on suspicion of firearm and weapons offences after armed police raid home on Moorcroft Avenue in Burton




A MAN was arrested after armed police raided a Burton home and alerted bomb disposal experts.

Dorset force’s firearms officers entered the address on Moorcroft Avenue around 11.30am on Saturday.

They arrested a 44-year-old on suspicion of possessing a firearm without lawful certificate and possessing prohibited weapons in a private place.

He was later bailed pending further enquiries.

An army explosive ordnance disposal team was called to assess suspicious items found during a search of the address.

But a police spokesperson said: “These were found to be inactive, and we would like to reassure the community that throughout the warrant there was no threat to the public.
