Man arrested after woman sexually assaulted in Barrack Road and Bargates area of Christchurch

A man has been arrested after a sex assault in Christchurch.

As reported in the A&T, a woman aged in her 20s, was walking in the area of Barrack Road and Bargates at around 3.30am on Saturday 27 May when she came across a man sitting on a bench.

She reportedly spoke to the man and was then sexually assaulted.

Today (Thursday) police said they have arrested a 30-year-old man from Christchurch. He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
